From 7 am to 9 am, our main focus is to receive the children. Some need help to say goodbye and others need help to start up the day’s activities.

At 9 am, bread and fruit are served.

After that, the activities of the day start. Some of these are scheduled activities, and others arise spontaneously among the children and staff as the day goes by. You can read about the activities in the Kbh forældre app.

At 10.45 am, lunch is served. After the lunch, it is naptime for the nursery children and the children in the kindergarten who still need it.

At 2.00 pm, we serve an afternoon snack and afterwards the activities and playing start again.

Parents cooperation

Cooperation and dialogue between parents and the professional day care staff

When your child is in day care, the cooperation and continuous dialogue between parents and the professional day care staff is very important. The parenting cooperation ensures your child’s wellbeing and a greater security for both the child and you.

Parenting cooperation can happen in many ways. The day care staff invites the parents to annual meetings for all parents. Staff will also arrange meetings just with you as parents several times during the period your child is in the day care. These dialogue meetings make sure you and the professional staff exchange the information needed. It all has focus on your child’s development and wellbeing.

Parenting cooperation also is the contact you have with staff when you bring and pick up your child daily. Often there you talk about the smaller things and you will be informed about what has happened during the day.

We invite you to contact us if you wonder why we do things the way we do, or if you disagree on any disposition we make. Dialogue is important to us.

Everyday routines and practices

Daily life in our day care is structured around routines and activities for the kids, including the meals. Children, who come early to day care, eat breakfast together.

During the day the day care also offers small extra meals to your child, both in the mornings and in the afternoons.

At 10.45 AM the children eat their main meal.

Your child will take part in many activities, plays and routines during the day, both inside and outside.

What to wear in day care

In the day care there are a lot of activities for children every day, activities and playing happens both inside the daycare facilities and outside.

The day care has focus on teaching children how to dress themselves. This means children practice how to tighten their pants buttons, use zips and take shoes and clothes on and off, and similar things. It’s important, your child wears clothes that is flexible and makes practice in doing things themselves easier.

Every child has a basket with space for extra clothings and shoes. This is needed if your child for some reason needs to change clothes during the day.

In the day care children are often outside. They can be outside on the playground or they can go on trips outside the day care. It is important your child has clothes available in the day care that is suitable for different needs. The need for clothes changes during the year and it is important your child can stay warm and dry.
